Deleting your account
This page explains how to delete your PEITE (配特) account, and what is deleted, what is kept and for how long once you do. PEITE is made and run by Beans & Crystal.
1. In the app
- Open PEITE and go to “My profile”.
- Tap “Account”.
- Tap “Delete account” at the bottom of the page.
- Type DELETE. An account that signs in with an email and a password types that email and the password.
- Tap “Delete account” again.
If your account is linked to Apple or Google, the app may ask you to sign in with it once more to confirm it’s you. If there are points left on the account, the screen tells you how many first, and they are deleted with the account. A deleted account can’t be restored.
2. If you can’t open the app
If you’ve lost your phone, deleted the app, or the app won’t open, email support@peite.app and ask us to delete your account. Include whatever will help us find it, such as the email address of the Apple or Google account it’s linked to, the name you use in PEITE, and your pet’s name. We may need to confirm the account is yours first, and then we delete it within 30 days. What is deleted and what is kept are the same as when you delete it in the app.
3. What is deleted
- Right away: your account, profile, pets and their details, photos (including the ones you sent in conversations), pet card, the pictures you shared, points, push tokens, usage counts, and the other records that belong only to your account. PEITE’s data on your phone is cleared too.
- Within 30 days: the moment you delete, each of your matches ends for the other person and disappears from their Matches list. Those matches, the messages and game records in them, and the likes you sent are cleared from our database within 30 days of the deletion. After that, system records may still hold your expired account identifier (a random string), which no longer links to any data.
4. What is kept after you delete your account
- Reports, feedback and problem reports: these are addressed to us, and are kept until they have been dealt with and any related dispute is over. They are not deleted with the account.
- Apple’s transaction records: kept until refunds no longer need handling.
- The invitation record: one record holding only the expired account identifier notes that the account used an invite code or invite link, so that the same account cannot use one twice.
- Server connection logs: kept for about 30 days, Google Cloud’s default.
5. If you applied to join on the website
What you sent when you applied to join on the website is kept apart from your app account, and deleting the account doesn’t delete it. The photos you uploaded are deleted within 90 days of the review. Your email address, district and reasons are kept until we’ve handled your application or no longer need to send you an invitation. To have them deleted sooner, email support@peite.app.
6. Deleting only some of your data
If you don’t want to delete the whole account, you can delete just your photos or a pet in the app, or take down the photos and pictures you shared. Section 7 (Retention) and section 8 (Your rights) of the Privacy Policy have the details.
