A dating app built around pets

Let your pet pick your date.

Take a few photos, and it turns into a little pixel animal that moves, temper and all. Anyone who wants to meet you has to win it over first. It works the other way, too.

PEITE is invite-only for now. Apply, and we’ll write back within 1–3 days.

How it works

  1. A PEITE screenshot with the headline “The pixel version has the same coat.” A real photo of a calico is pinned in the corner, the pixel calico drawn from it is underneath, and her four sides are below that.

    1

We even draw its little white socks.

Take a few photos or pick some from your library, and PEITE draws your pet the way it really looks, as a little pixel animal that moves. Rather not use photos? You can make one by hand.

  2. A PEITE screenshot with the headline “Three pets a day bring their humans.” In Today’s picks, Mochi the calico’s card is thrown off to the right with Like hearts where it left, Latte the pixel golden retriever’s card is underneath, and the day’s three sit in a row above.

    2

Just three cards a day, so take your time.

A card might be a pet and its person who live near you, or a shelter animal waiting for a home. Skipped one by accident? You can get it back.

  3. A PEITE screenshot with the headline “Don't take its attack lightly.” Latte the pixel golden retriever is at his grumpiest, with Power 50, and slanted walls of his hair sweep across the board while the red hand dodges through a gap.

    3

Their human is waiting, but the pet wants to play first.

When you both like each other, their pet plays a short game with you first. It might throw hair at you, or it might quiz you. Once it likes you, the two of you can start chatting.

At the shelter, someone’s waiting for you too.

Cats and dogs waiting for adoption in Taiwan’s public shelters show up in your daily cards too. Each one is drawn in pixels from the coat and size the shelter wrote down, and if the shelter took a photo, you’ll see the real animal on the card.

Fall for one? Please go and adopt it. Open its card for the shelter’s phone number and address, and its page on Taiwan’s national shelter system. You contact the shelter directly. We don’t handle adoptions, so whatever the shelter tells you is what counts.

Questions

Is this a dating app or a pet app?

It’s a dating app. On PEITE, though, their pet has to like you before you can chat with its human. And if you only want to meet the animals, that’s fine too.

Can I use it without an invite?

Not yet: PEITE is invite-only for now. You can apply here with a few photos of your pet and one of yourself, and we’ll write back within 1–3 days. If it’s a yes, the email has your invite link; tap it on your phone to get in. A friend who already uses PEITE can also send you their invite link.

Can I use it without a pet?

Yes. You won’t show up in anyone else’s picks, but you can still look at other people’s pets, and you can like shelter animals just the same. Joining starts with an application for now, and it asks for photos of your pet; without a pet, ask a friend who uses PEITE for their invite link.

Why only three a day?

We want you to take your time and choose carefully, not just keep swiping.

Does it cost anything?

The three cards a day, playing with the other person’s pet and chatting don’t use any shells, and there are no ads. A few extras are paid for with shells: ten more drawings, three more cards, giving a pet a treat and dressing it up. Shells are the app’s points. You can buy them in the app, and you can keep playing without buying any.

Why do I have to meet their pet first after we match?

Because on PEITE, the pet gets the first say. You play with it for a little while, and once it likes you, you can see its real photos and chat with its human.

Who can see my photos?

Only you can see the photos used to draw your pet. The photos you choose to share are shown only to people who have met your pet in the app. The Privacy Policy has the details.

How do I adopt a shelter animal?

Open its card and you’ll see the shelter’s phone number, address and opening hours, so you can contact the shelter directly. We don’t handle adoptions, and whatever the shelter tells you is what counts.

Which pets can I add?

Cats and dogs for now. More animals are coming.

Where does PEITE work?

We’re starting in Taiwan, so for now the cards you see, shelter animals included, come from Taiwan.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet, but it’s on the way. For now you can get PEITE on the App Store.

How do I delete my account?

Go to the bottom of “My profile” in the app. Your pets, photos and profile are deleted right away, and your matches and conversations are cleared within 30 days.

For anything else, to report someone, or to ask about your data, see the support page, write to us with the contact form, or email support@peite.app.

PEITE is invite-only for now.

We want every person and every pet here to be real, so joining starts with an application. Send a few photos of your pet and one of yourself, and we’ll write back within 1–3 days.
